Accused Drug Dealer Charged Following Fatal Overdose In East Meadow

An accused drug dealer is facing multiple charges after police officers discovered two overdose victims, one  of whom later died, near Eisenhower Park in East Meadow

According to Narcotic Vice Squad Detectives, police were dispatched just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3 near Eisenhower Park for an aided call. Upon their arrival, they discovered two unresponsive adult men who had overdosed on illegal narcotics, Nassau County Police said. 

Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where one man was pronounced dead by hospital personnel. 

An investigation was conducted by Third Squad detectives, Narcotic Detectives and members of the Long Island Heroin Task Force resulted in the arrest of Kenneth Parris, 46, of  Fenimore Avenue in Uniondale at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, July 4. Upon further investigation, a large quantity of heroin and other drug paraphernalia was recovered at his residence.

Parris was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
